June Praises and Prayer

I feel like time is just flying by. It seems like yesterday it was March and I was just getting started. This month has been full of many blessings and changes. Last weekend my older brother got married. The week before that I said goodbye to several of my friends who left to serve the Lord in Tanzania for the summer and another for a year. Sunday was the first Sunday in our church building. These past weeks have been challenging. I have loved the fellowship, the way my church is being molded and the relationships that have grown out of our love for Christ. I have found myself asking God to hold on to it a little longer. Watching my friends leave for Tanzania was the beginning of these transitions for me. It is difficult to not resist these changes but I know that I need to rest easy in the Lord. The blessing behind all this is how He is using us to accomplish His will. I am still humbled by the fact that we are able to partake in these blessings and that no matter how things change; one day we will worship God together in His presence. Please pray with me this month that we can make a larger impact and maximize our prayer time.

“The men who have most fully illustrated Christ in their character, and have most powerfully affected the world for Him, have been men who spent so much time with God as to make it a notable feature of their lives.” E.M. Bounds

PRAISES~
1. I was able to talk to Deborah, the wife of the team leader, on the phone and hear her heart for the Lord! I am excited to serve alongside them and learn from them.
2.
I have a 50% of my prayer support. This is exciting as I still have four months to go and the Lord has been so faithful to provide in all areas!
3. I have 85% of my start up costs raised and 41% of my monthly support. This has been an overwhelming month as God has just poured out blessings all over the place. Praise GOD for His provisions!!

PRAYER REQUESTS~
1. For diligence in the Word. I really want to spend more time digging through the scriptures. Please pray that it would stick in my mind. I have the memory of a 95 year old and I really want to take more time and memorize His Word.
2. Please pray for protection as our supply town in Lokichoggio, Kenya has been hit by violent banditry. Currently my team leaders are there and according to the district officer eight people have been killed by armed thugs last month (May). Please pray for protection as well as opportunities for the gospel to go forth.
3. Pray that God would continue to use me here locally and that I would be bold and continue strong till I leave in October.
4.
Please continue to pray for my work situation. I still am not sure how and when to tell them. Pray that I would wait patiently for the Lord’s guidance

“But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, so that the surpassing greatness of the power will be of God and not from ourselves.” ~2 Corinthians 4:7

Serving the Didinga in Southern Sudan, Africa

So here goes the beginning of a new Journey. A year ago I never would have imagined that God would be preparing me to live amongst the Didinga in Southern Sudan, Africa. I had prayed that God would reveal Himself to me and that I would be able to see Him move in mighty ways. I had hoped that He would send me to Africa, but I didn't know He was sending me to Sudan.

In October I will be leaving for 2 years to work with the Didinga. The Didinga have yet to hear the truth about Jesus Christ and His salvation. I will be living in Makiria in a coned topped hut with several other team members. Their will be a total of 11 who will be working together with our team leaders Deborah and David Miller. During this two year period we will be learning the Didinga language and building relationships. We will be accomplishing this through TIMO’s learning program. This curriculum will teach us different ways of ministry outreach and from there we will need to apply them practically. The goal is to help meet the Didinga’s physical as well as spiritual needs. We want to be used to build up a body of Didinga believers.
