Redemption

Tonight I was reminded of God's redemptive love and how He forgives us and PAYS our debts. I have grown up knowing these truths and yet I need to be reminded daily of my need for a Savior and the price that was paid for my sin.

"For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will hardly die for a righteous man; though perhaps for the good man someone would dare even to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him." Romans 5:6-9.

I could type out that whole chapter because it is so powerful! The God of the bible is like no other God. He is blameless, forgiving, loving, holy, righteous, Just, merciful and defies all our expectations and what our minds can fathom. This is the God I serve and the God I have chosen to give my life to. He is what gives me strength. It is because of Jesus that I am "saved from the wrath of God".

I remember one man telling me that if you make brownies and add all the right ingredients but you put a little poop in the brownie mix, that little bit ruins the whole batch. So it is with our sin, yet Christ replaced our poopy brownies with His perfect recipe...with His life. So that when God sees me, He sees His son. I am then reconciled with God and can come before a perfect and righteous Father. I cannot wait to share these truths with the Didinga. They live in fear of their dead ancestors and rely on the Rain Man to determine the fate of their crops and their futures. They are constantly trying to appease their gods but our God is all powerful who we can petition and go before without fear. He is the one who determines the beginning, end and all the spaces in between. May I never forget my purpose here is to serve Him whole heartedly. To Him be the glory forever and ever. Amen.

Amen! Our God is great and we are so undeserving - still He loves us! Unbelievable! By-the-way, I love the poopy brownie analogy. I think we should use that in Children's Worship!! :-)

Serving the Didinga in Southern Sudan, Africa

So here goes the beginning of a new Journey. A year ago I never would have imagined that God would be preparing me to live amongst the Didinga in Southern Sudan, Africa. I had prayed that God would reveal Himself to me and that I would be able to see Him move in mighty ways. I had hoped that He would send me to Africa, but I didn't know He was sending me to Sudan.

In October I will be leaving for 2 years to work with the Didinga. The Didinga have yet to hear the truth about Jesus Christ and His salvation. I will be living in Makiria in a coned topped hut with several other team members. Their will be a total of 11 who will be working together with our team leaders Deborah and David Miller. During this two year period we will be learning the Didinga language and building relationships. We will be accomplishing this through TIMO’s learning program. This curriculum will teach us different ways of ministry outreach and from there we will need to apply them practically. The goal is to help meet the Didinga’s physical as well as spiritual needs. We want to be used to build up a body of Didinga believers.
